AWIU Membership
AWIU is comprised of women throughout the United States representing professional and civic endeavors. The membership has representatives from the arts, business, medicine, the legal profession, politics, academia, association management, the media, community action, and women's groups. It has the collective aim of exploring the contemporary woman's role and studying concerns and issues facing women throughout the world.
Active Members
Any person whose aims and objectives are compatible and consistent with the general aims and objectives of the corporation who has accepted an invitation to join this corporation or who has, upon application, been accepted as a member, and whose dues have been paid in accordance with AWIU bylaws, shall be an active member. Only active members shall be eligible to vote and hold office.
Honorary Members
Upon the recommendation of any member, the Board of Directors may elect by two-thirds majority vote, honorary members to this organization. Honorary members shall pay no dues and shall be ineligible for office.
AND TWO SPECIAL CATEGORIES FOR THE NEXT GENERATION: These membership categorie provides service to the organization instead of dues.
