To All AWIU Members: Upcoming AWIU Teleconference: Update on AWIU Grant Project in Uganda
Date: Thursday, May 26th ( 7 PM Eastern, 6 PM Central, 5 PM Mountain, 4 PM Pacific)
Topic: AWIU has awarded grant funding this year for an agricultural consultant for a cassava farm project in Kobulubulu, Uganda. The Cassava Farm Project, begun in 2013, focuses on twenty women farmers in a community in Uganda, who are growing cassava as their first effort to move from subsistence to income-producing agribusiness.
At this teleconference Lois Stovall, the president of KRMA-US Partners, which is sponsoring the farm project, will be updating us on the unexpected challenges the community has faced this year and how through the strength and persistence of these village women, these challenges have been successfully overcome.
Lois reports that as a result of this project the women and their families now have more financial security than ever has been experienced before. The project continues to grow and produce substantive changes in the lives of the village families.
We so hope you can join us to hear Lois very moving story and how AWIU funding has enhanced the outcome of this very substantial project. There will be a Q and A after Lois’ presentation. Your input and participation are very much valued.
Please RSVP to Barbara Rubio, Virtual 1 Teleconference Chair if you plan to attend.
