AWIU PROVIDES GRANT TO ZENA BIH MOSTAR TO TRAIN WOMEN IN SEWING SKILLS
Grant funds were used for stimulation for economic empowerment of women, victims of violence, who were placed in the Safe house of ZENA BIH (Mostar), in the form of purchase of the sewing machines and materials, fabrics to stay in their durable ownership. ZENA BIH is located in Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is about gaining of skills for women at ZENA BIH’s safe house and enabling them to gain and sustain economic independence. Mentors are there and will be there by their side to follow them until they become independent. AWIU grant money to Zena BIH helped pay for sewing machines, sewing supplies, travel costs, educators and mentors. This project trained 4-5 women to develop sewing skills in an effort to gain economic independence. Mentors will continue to guide the trainees as the trainees use their sewing skills.
